Determined To Rise: Recovery Campus Campaign
For years, the calls came from parents with nowhere else to turn.
“Can you help my child?”
Too often, our answer had to be no.
As 4D expanded it’s services, one heartbreaking reality became impossible to ignore: adolescents & their families were falling through the cracks. Parents searched desperately for treatment while facing long waitlists, limited options, and the fear of losing their child to substance use. We knew we had to do more.

In 2025, we launched a bold vision- a capital campaign to create Oregon’s first comprehensive Adolescent & Family Recovery Campus.
What happened next was extraordinary. We met our $5.1 million dollar capital campaign goal. Because of the generosity of our donors, partners, and community, that vision became reality – proving what is possible when a community believes every young person deserves the opportunity to recover.
The campus was designed to transform lives by offering a complete continuum of care under one roof:
- Medical Detox
- Residential Treatment
- Mental Health Services
- Medication-Assisted Treatment
- Peer Recovery Support
- Family Programming
- Onsite Education
- Holistic Wellness
Every element was thoughtfully created to support healing — not just for adolescents, but for entire families.
Then, On april 11th 2026 tragedy struck.
Just days before finishing construction, the Adolescent & Family Recovery Campus was destroyed in an act of arson. In a single night, we lost over 60% of the building- but we did not lose the vision that brought us together.
Today, we are rebuilding. Our commitment to Oregon’s youth and families remains unwavering, and our promise has not changed: this campus will open. The services will be provided. The lives that inspired this vision will continue to inspire our work.
Letter From The Executive Director
Dear Community,
I am heartbroken to share that a fire broke out on Saturday, April 11th around 9:45 PM at our Adolescent and Family Recovery Campus, destroying a significant portion of the building just as we were nearing completion of construction. The cause of the fire is currently unknown, and an investigation is underway.
I want to extend my deep gratitude to the Portland Fire Department for their swift and courageous response, which prevented the fire from spreading to neighboring businesses and homes.
While this is a devastating setback, our commitment to this project –and to the young people and families we serve –remains unwavering. We are actively working with our partners and insurance providers to determine next steps and will rebuild.
Importantly, our outpatient adolescent will continue at our other facilities to support adolescents and families without interruption.
This campus represents hope, healing, and opportunity for our community, and we will see it through.
We are grateful for the outpouring of support and will share ways for the community to get involved in the coming days.
