Nick Smit was a devoted father, a friend to all, and a passionate advocate for helping others. As General Manager and Partner of Gresham Subaru for over 25 years, he used his platform to support countless individuals—both through his generosity and as a
founding member of 4D Recovery. His efforts raised over $300,000 for our mission, a legacy that continues through our ongoing partnership with Gresham Subaru.

To honor Nick’s impact, we opened the Smit Center, which provides peer mentorship, a
drop-in center, recovery supportive meetings, recovery events for young adults. But Nick had one more dream—bringing 4D Recovery to Washington State.

In July of 2025, we  officially made that dream a reality. 4D Recovery is opened its first Washington-based recovery center in Vancouver, providing vital peer recovery services for young adults ages 18-35 in Clark County. A recently secured grant will help fund operations for the next three years, and the unrestricted funds raised from this golf tournament have played a crucial role in making this expansion possible—filling gaps, building momentum, and ensuring we can launch successfully.
